We invite you to join the Sierra Heights PTSA! The more members we have, the more families we can connect with to create a strong community at Sierra Heights. The PTSA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a member of both the Washington State and National PTA organizations. Joining does not require a commitment to volunteer or submit a background check, but helps us reach our goals and show our kiddos how important their education is!
School supplies offered to all elementary and middle school students, right in class
Elementary and middle school families can again choose to pay a low, one-time fee for school supplies this coming school year. The district implemented the program as a way to reduce cost for families and make the school supply process more streamlined and economical. School supplies will be provided right in class on the first day of school and continuously provided throughout the school year as needed: all for one low cost per student.
Families can pay here online anytime or by check/cash at their school at the start of the school year, September 1, 2021.
At the start of the new school year, Renton School District plans to offer all K-12 students full day, in-person instruction at all schools. Students in all grade levels will attend 5 days per week, and schools will return to normal hours. All transportation will resume. Right at School before- and after-school program will resume at elementary schools. Meadow Crest Early Learning Center will offer ½ day Inclusive Preschool Monday-Thursday as well as ½ day and full day Head Start and ECEAP.
Throughout the spring and summer, we will continue to monitor guidance from the Department of Health and OSPI to determine if changes regarding our in-person instruction schedule need to occur.
Start of 2021-2022 School Year:
1-12 grades: Wednesday, Sept. 1
Kindergarten: Tuesday, Sept. 7
We really wish we could answer this ourselves! Like our families, teachers, and staff we wish we knew what to expect and how to plan for it. While we are currently unable to plan activities that bring our Sierra Heights community together, we are here to answer questions and provide guidance if you need assistance navigating the school or district. As rules change and things begin to open up, we’ll adapt in accordance with those changes. We hope to see you soon!
Join the Sierra Heights PTSA and show support for our school while having access to discounts offered to Washington State PTA members. Get discounts on rental cars, office / school supplies, the Washington State Fair, and Great Wolf Lodge as well as others. Watch for a membership form coming home with your child or download one from our documents page. Don't want to send cash or checks to school? Pay online with your credit card.
The majority of the PTSA dues we collect are passed on to the state to pay for our local council, state, and national PTA organizations. These organizations not only get discounts for our members, their staff helps our changing PTSA body remember to do important things (like file taxes) and answer questions to help us ensure we maintain our charitable 501(c)(3) status with the government so your donations are tax deductible!
Participation in the PTSA allows us to do things like bring extra assemblies to school for our students and host events like Bingo Night
Our members provide opportunities for the PTSA to support our teachers and staff with new equipment / supplies for the classroom
Being active at your child's school not only shows them how important they and their education is, but gives you ample opportunity to make new friends with similar interests
Sierra Heights PTSA is a collaborative group of volunteers comprised of dedicated Parents, Teachers and Students to bring enrichment programs and events to our children through educational support and fun activities. Without our volunteers, none of what we do would be possible!
With your support, the PTSA organizes events and develops programs to supplement the efforts of our teachers and staff as well as provide support through volunteer hours, classroom or school supplies, and acting as liaison between our school and the families in our community.
We love our school and families. Whether you are returning to Sierra Heights or new to our community, already actively involved or trying to figure out what is going on at school, we want to hear from you! We are here to answer your questions and help you be involved in whatever capacity you desire.
